Job Title: Surgical Technician (OR – General)

Location: Falmouth, MA

Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Pay Rate: $60/hour

Schedule: 40 hours/week

Shift: Day (Rotating)

• 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM
• 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  
  Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends
  
  Holiday Requirement: As needed (on-call)

Position Overview

A leading healthcare facility is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to support surgical teams in a fast-paced Operating Room (OR) environment. The ideal candidate will assist in a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile field and ensuring optimal patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms with surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and necessary supplies
• Maintain sterile technique in accordance with established policies and AORN standards
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies
• Handle retractors, sutures, and perform sponge/needle counts
• Prepare, label, and manage surgical specimens appropriately
• Assist with patient positioning and transport within the OR
• Ensure proper functioning and readiness of surgical equipment
• Apply surgical dressings as directed
• Assist in medication preparation under supervision
• Support patient transfer to recovery areas
• Participate in room turnover, cleaning, and restocking supplies
• Uphold patient safety, privacy, and dignity at all times
• Collaborate with nursing staff and support specialty equipment needs
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development

Qualifications

Experience:

• Experience across multiple surgical specialties preferred
• Orthopedic (Ortho) experience strongly preferred

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician or Operating Room Technician program (civilian or military)

Certifications (Required):

• NBSTSA Certification (must be active and maintained)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
