Position Summary Bancroft School seeks an energetic, flexible, and innovative Middle School/Upper School Librarian to join our service-oriented, student-centered library and educational technology program, which is fully integrated into the life of the school. This part-time position (2025 hours per week with schedule flexibility) is for the 202627 academic year and will begin in late August 2026. Collaborating with the Lower School Librarian, this position helps to oversee engagement in the Library for students and faculty, manage the overall library budget, and administer digital resources related to the library and educational technology. The MS/US Librarian works in collaboration with academic leadership and faculty to foster professional growth opportunities for faculty in the areas of educational technology, research, and literacy while working to support student growth and development in the areas of research, information literacy, and recreational reading. General Duties
- Information literacy and recreational reading.
- Fostering a culture of inquiry.
- Developing the physical library space.
- Collection of reading materials with a focus on human-centered design.
- Support faculty professional development in the areas of research and educational technology.
- Masters of Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
- Experience working in a middle school and/or high school setting.
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Understanding of and experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion practices that create a library culture where all are welcome.
- Partnering with the Academic Leadership Team and Department Chairs to help identify needs, priorities, and best practices in instructional technology and to help shape a mindset about educational technology that is equitable, empathetic, and flexible.
