Commercial Real Estate Accountant
Seeking a skilled Commercial Real Estate Accountant to manage financial reporting, budgeting, and day-to-day accounting operations for a $4 billion property portfolio in Cambridge. This role offers a strong opportunity for future growth, industry exposure, and high-impact collaboration with the Asset Management team. The position offers a competitive pay rate up to $60.00 per hour and follows a hybrid work schedule, with two days per week in the Cambridge office and three days remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records for assigned commercial real estate properties
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for property operations
- Oversee tenant account reconciliations and monitor investment returns
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with company standards
- Collaborate with the Asset Management and Real Estate teams to support strategic decision-making
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and escalate complex issues appropriately
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and industry regulations
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of accounting experience specifically in commercial real estate
- Demonstrated history of working with accounting systems such as Yardi or Buildium
- Proven ability to produce high-quality financial reporting in deadline-driven environments
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with RealPage software
- Excel modeling or advanced spreadsheet skills
- Detail-oriented mindset with ability to manage multiple property accounts simultaneously
