O&M Technician

- A variety of basic operational and maintenance tasks relevant to maintaining safe and reliable operations of water treatment and distribution facilities and systems ensuring operational compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Routine cleaning and general housekeeping duties in work and plant areas as assigned. including but not limited to sweeping, dusting, mopping, painting, etc.
- Work outdoors performing water distribution system maintenance functions including the operation and testing of valves, hydrants, meters, etc.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and/or verbal work orders and assignments.
- Ability to perform simple math calculations with the use of a calculator.
- Basic knowledge of fundamentals of chemistry, math principles and hydraulics required.
- Ability to utilize CMMS system to schedule and complete work orders.
- Ability to properly collect water quality samples. test and maintain collection records.
- Actions are controlled by standard work procedures and under direct supervision of others.
- Required to work a pre-determined weekend shift and be available for emergency call-out in rotation with other employees.
Work Environment:
- Works a scheduled shift.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Less than 2 years of experience in Water treatment industry.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must learn and comply with all safety procedures.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Valid Driver's license.
