Workshop Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Leominster manufacturer for a Workshop Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical assembly professional to join a highly skilled production team, producing bespoke products to exceptional quality standards.

What You Can Expect

• Salary from £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
• Monday to Friday – office hours
• Full-time, permanent position

What You Will Be Doing

• Wiring and assembling decorative light fittings from technical drawings
• Carrying out electrical testing, fault finding and quality inspections before dispatch
• Assembling mechanical components to a consistently high standard
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams and bills of materials
• Supporting prototype builds and assisting with continuous product improvements
• Mentoring and supporting junior workshop technicians
• Ensuring compliance with electrical regulations and workshop health and safety procedures
• Maintaining accurate production records and reporting technical issues where required
• Working closely with the design, engineering and production teams to deliver projects on schedule

What We Are Looking For

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification
• Proven electrical wiring experience with strong mechanical assembly skills
• Excellent understanding of electrical wiring principles and safe working practices
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship
• Experience using a wide range of hand tools and workshop equipment
• Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a team
• Organised, reliable and proactive approach to work
• Commitment to maintaining exceptionally high quality standards

Desirable

• Experience working with electronics
• Knowledge of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards
• Understanding of UKCA/CE compliance and electrical testing procedures
