Campaign Manager
Matthew McLaughlin for State Senate
Matthew McLaughlin’s campaign for the State Senate in the Second Middlesex District is seeking a Campaign Manager. The Second Middlesex District is an open seat that represents Somerville, Medford, parts of Cambridge and Winchester. This is a full-time position based in Somerville, MA.
About Matthew
Matthew is running because the cost of living is pushing working people out of Massachusetts. Born and raised in Somerville and the son of janitors, he grew up in a working-class family grounded in humility, hard work, and service to others. A two tour army veteran, Matt returned home to a rapidly gentrifying Somerville and started organizing his community around affordable housing, local jobs and substance abuse treatment. In 2013 Matt ran for city council. He was an underdog candidate at a time when progressives were far from guaranteed victories. During his time on the Council, Matt has championed immigrant rights, environmental justice, access to affordable housing and more. He balanced this work with his day job, helping homeless veterans secure employment. He is running to ensure the Second Middlesex District remains a beacon of policy innovation, strengthened by community, and focused on results for the people who call it home.
Overview The Campaign Manager will lead the planning and execution of a winning campaign to elect Matthew McLaughlin to the Massachusetts State Senate. ● You are comfortable engaging with voters, volunteers, and community stakeholders
● You stay level-headed under pressure and can adapt quickly when plans change
