Travel Physical Therapist Job

TLC Nursing
New Bedford, MA
Step into a role where your Physical Therapist expertise makes a measurable difference in patients’ lives every day. This orthopedic-focused opportunity places you at the helm of rehabilitation in New Bedford, Massachusetts, where your assessments, treatments, and care plans will help people reclaim mobility, independence, and confidence. As you guide progressive return-to-function journeys, you’ll collaborate with skilled clinicians across a range of settings, from outpatient clinics to short-term hospital services, applying evidence-based techniques that align with patients’ goals. In addition to the immediate impact you’ll have, you’ll contribute to a broader mission of elevating functional outcomes, improving quality of life, and supporting communities through compassionate, patient-centered care. Separately, Massachusetts itself invites you to explore a state rich in coastal splendor and historic charm—where seaside strolls, vibrant neighborhoods, renowned seafood, scenic parks, and cultural treasures punctuate your time off. New Bedford’s waterfront, the nearby Cape Cod coastline, and easy access to Boston and Providence offer a beautiful counterpoint to the daily rewarding work you’ll do with patients.

Location Benefits: Working in New Bedford places you in a community with a strong health care network, a welcoming ocean-side environment, and a dynamic arts scene that enhances everyday living. The city’s proximity to Cape Cod’s beaches, the Mystic and Taunton riverfronts, and urban centers means you can enjoy diverse recreational options after shifts, from whale-watching excursions to waterfront dining and historic districts. The region’s hospitals, clinics, and specialty centers provide exposure to a broad spectrum of orthopedic cases, advanced modalities, and collaborative practice, enriching your clinical perspective. Moreover, this role offers the flexibility to extend your professional reach beyond Massachusetts with the opportunity to work in various locations across the United States, broadening your clinical repertoire, expanding your professional network, and enriching your resume with a wide array of patient populations and practice environments. You’ll experience a supportive care ecosystem that values clinical excellence, open communication, and teamwork, all while enjoying the distinctive blend of maritime heritage and modern New England vitality that Massachusetts offers.

Role Specifics and Benefits: In this assignment, you’ll evaluate patients with musculoskeletal conditions, design and implement individualized therapy plans, select appropriate modalities, and monitor progress toward functional goals. You will perform initial evaluations, formulate short- and long-term goals, document progress, and adjust treatment strategies in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and PT assistants. Your responsibilities include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, gait training, edema control, and functional activity simulation to restore daily living activities and return-to-work capabilities. You’ll educate patients and families on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and self-management strategies, while maintaining meticulous, HIPAA-compliant documentation and data collection for outcomes tracking. The position supports professional growth within the specialty through mentorship, ongoing CEU opportunities, and access to the latest evidence-based practices so you can continually refine your expertise in orthopedics. In addition to skill-building, you’ll participate in interdisciplinary rounds, contribute to care planning, and help optimize patient flow and satisfaction.

This opportunity features a competitive compensation package designed to reflect your expertise, including a weekly pay range of $2,575-$2,624 and guaranteed 36 hours per week, with the Start Date targeted for 11/24/2025. In addition to base pay, you’ll have access to a signing or performance bonus program, housing assistance to ease relocation or temporary stays, and potential extension opportunities to continue your impact with the team beyond the initial assignment. You’ll receive comprehensive support from a traveling care network, including 24/7 assistance for travel-related needs, credentialing help, and streamlined onboarding so you can focus on delivering exceptional patient care. The role emphasizes flexible scheduling within the contract framework, ongoing supervision and peer support, and resources to pursue clinical advancement while you’re on the road. It’s a chance to grow clinically, expand your professional toolkit, and build lasting connections with colleagues who share a commitment to progressive orthopedic care.

Company Values: We are dedicated to empowering therapists to reach their career potential while maintaining a compassionate, collaborative, and inclusive work environment. The organization champions ongoing professional development, internal mobility, and leadership opportunities that recognize your contributions and investments in patient outcomes. You’ll be supported by a network that prioritizes work-life balance, transparent communication, and a culture of respect, safety, and innovation. Every member of the team is encouraged to bring ideas forward, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to a positive, growth-oriented workplace where your expertise is valued and your well-being is a priority.
