Sr. Accountant

Description Position Title: Senior Accountant Location: Braintree, MA Salary: $80-90k Schedule: M-F (Potential Remote Flexibility) Hours: 8:30-5 (Can be Flexible) Industry: Real Estate Development / Management Firm Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team and be responsible for preparing and analyzing the financial records for our real estate investment and management client. Position Summary: Execute day-to-day operations of the accounting department including transactional processing, account reconciliations, and financial analysis, provide direct assistance to the CFO, CIO and CEO, and general office duties as required. Accounting Functions: - Prepare and verify monthly journal entries to the general ledger. - Lead the month-end and year-end close. - Generate and send out customer invoices. - Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions. - Assist in billing, collection and allocation of payments. - Reconcile bank statements. - Prepare and analyze the monthly results to budget. - Assist in the preparation of the annual budget. - Record bank transfers and loan transactions. - Allocate credit card expenses across multiple companies. - Generate and update complex spreadsheets. - Maintain company records for insurance and organizational documents. - Research and resolve general ledger and other accounting discrepancies by posting adjusting journal entries to correct errors. - Coordinate with property managers appliance inventory and replacement reserve reporting and reimbursement. - Prepare quarterly financial statements for Lenders. - Opportunity to work with CEO / CIO to prepare asset analysis. - Prepare draw requests for development projects. - Other tasks and special projects as assigned. Abilities: - Knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payables - Knowledge of Office Administration and Procedures - Knowledge of General Accounting principles - Prepare monthly actual to budget reports. - Accounting systems used - AppFolio - Prepare cost reports for development projects. - Proficient in relevant computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint. PowerPoint) - 5+ years accounts receivable and general accounting experience. Key Competencies: - Attention to detail and accuracy - Excellent verbal and written communications skills. - Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment. - Efficient organization and time management. - Ability to problem solve and find solutions with minimal supervision. - Proficient in Excel - Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees. Requirements Education - Associates/ Bachelors Degree 3 Major Keys: 1. Self starter, able to trouble shoot, hands on experience 2. Proficient Excel Skills 3.
