Primary Care Physician

- Pay: $165+ an hour
- Contract Type: 1-year contract
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am–4:30 pm.
- Location: 233 Stevens Street, Hyannis, MA 02601
- Requirements:
- Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

What does a typical day look like for the Primary Care Physician?
You will:
- Monday – Friday, 8 am–4:30 pm.
- Direct Patient Care: Estimated 95% of the time involved in direct patient care.
- Provide Primary Care management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Initial evaluation, treatment and management of minor wound care, respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, burns, musculoskeletal trauma, dermatological illness, ENT, eye and urological problems.
- Initial evaluation and ongoing management of chronic diseases, such as coronary artery disease, atherovascular disease, Type I and II diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, PTSD, depression and other chronic medical and psychiatric conditions.
- Administrative: Estimated 5% of time not involved in direct patient care.

If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
