SENIOR AI FULL-STACK DEVELOPER, IS&T Applications
At Boston University, we are assembling a world-class AI Engineering team to transform operations, drive innovation, and deliver innovative AI applications and agents. You will join as the Senior AI Full-Stack Developer where you will design, develop, and test AI applications and agents. You will contribute across the entire software development lifecycle, from front-end interfaces to back-end integrations with modern AI technologies. As a member of the AI Engineering team, you will handle some of the university's highest priority initiatives while collaborating with our renowned faculty, students, and industry-leading technical teams. You'll bring your expertise to a vibrant environment that values ingenuity and impact, where your ideas can make a difference on a global scale. Together, we'll deliver AI solutions that not only revolutionize university operations but also become models of innovation for institutions worldwide. This position is primarily remote with periodic in-person meetings on campus. You Will:
- Design, Develop, Test AI Applications/Agents - Create secure, scalable, and user-friendly front-end and back-end features. Integrate modern AI frameworks.
- Prompt Engineering & AI Optimization - Design and optimize prompts for AI-driven tasks using modern frameworks to ensure effective agent performance and precise task execution.
- Collaborative Development - Work with other technical teams (e.g., Data Engineering, Automation Engineering, IT Infrastructure) to ensure seamless integration of tools, infrastructure, and operational workflows.
- Testing & Quality Assurance - Conduct rigorous testing of AI applications/agents, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and adherence to functional requirements.
Required Skills
You Will Have:
- 8+ years of applicable experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in full-stack AI development - front-end and back-end (e.g., Python, React, Vue, Node.js, Typescript, API's, databases, Git/GitHub, CI/CD, AI Coding Assistants, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, etc.). Knowledge of recent AI developments (e.g., MCP, A2A, etc.) is desirable.
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, and modern AI frameworks.
- Knowledge of developing secure, scalable applications.
