Board Certified Behavior Specialist (BCBA)/Behavior Specialist
Assabet Valley Collaborative is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Specialist (BCBA)/Behavior Specialist for our Reach/Evolution Program part time with the possibility of eventually going full-time as our programs grow.

Assabet Valley Collaborative (AVC) is an educational service agency in Metrowest/Central Massachusetts. Our services include school programs, wraparound services, transportation services, professional development, cooperative purchasing and consulting. AVC operates 3 special education school programs for students with disabilities - REACH, Evolution, and Orchard Street Academy.
The candidate will be assigned to our REACH program with a current caseload of 5-7 students with significant medical complexities, & may be assigned to the Evolution transition program for students 18-22 of age with a range of physical and mental health needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow through on individual responsibilities.
- Encourages and fosters passion and enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
- Adhere to established federal, state, and local laws and regulations (FERPA, HIPAA, and IDEA).
- Master’s Degree in Education, Applied Behavior Analysis or relevant field.
- Certification with the Behavior Analysis Certification Board as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Ability to lead, learn and work within diverse teams.
- Ability to seek and incorporate clear and direct feedback from others.
- Ability to provide authentic, clear and direct feedback to others.
- Bilingual or multilingual is a plus.
AVC is seeking to hire a BCBA/Behavior Specialist who:
Prioritizes an instructional focus with a blend of the following:
- Social emotional learning, restorative practices, culturally relevant teaching, Universal and Design for Learning.
- Empowers and fosters the skills for students to become problem solvers and independent decision makers.
- Balances high academic and behavioral expectations with necessary accommodations and modifications.
- Co-designs and collaborates Experience working within and across diverse public education environments.
Partners:
- With students and all those invested in their success to develop, present, and implement team drafted IEPs.
- With all team members towards effective curriculum development and implementation of IEP accommodations.
- With team members to establish and implement student centered assessments and sustainable data systems that will inform programming.
- With families/guardians, sending districts and providers.
Complete:
- Functional Behavioral Assessments and other descriptive behavior assessments as appropriate and develop Positive Behavior Support programs.
- Necessary documentation & assist staff in creating data sheets & collecting & interpreting data.
Monitor:
- The restrictiveness and effectiveness of interventions through ongoing analysis of data and monitoring of student progress.
Provide:
- Consultation and/or professional development for faculty as needed.
- Coaching to team members to infuse research-based behavioral support strategies within classroom, group, milieu, leisure, vocational, and home settings.
- Demonstrates an ability to be flexible and adapt to the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
- Participate and engage in professional development and community events.
- Comply with collaborative wide policies and procedures.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Meet the physical requirements necessary to physically intervene in a crisis or emergency as trained and per AVC Physical Restraint protocol, policy and applicable regulations.
- Ability to see, hear and speak.
- Ability to report to work on time and fulfill contract days and hours.
WORK YEAR : School year – 10 months; 185 day work year; 3 days per week with the potential to evolve to full time. Summer hours available at additional compensation.
SUPERVISION AND EVALUATION:
Supervision and Evaluation to be performed in accordance with AVC Personnel Handbook and applicable state regulations and statutes.
