Role Overview
The Product Development – Robots team is at the heart of SharkNinja's innovation engine, responsible for delivering breakthrough robotic products from concept to launch. As an Associate Product Developer – Tech (APD-T), you will support technical leaders and cross-functional teams in developing robot platforms. You'll collaborate with engineering, software, UX, quality, and commercial teams to help deliver best-in-class consumer experiences. This is a hands-on learning role, designed to build your skills and understanding of robotics product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Robot Product Roadmap: Assist in the development and enhancement of SharkNinja's robot portfolio, helping manage technical requirements, product improvements, and optimizations. Contribute to the integration of advanced technologies (e.g., SLAM, AI, connectivity) under guidance from senior team members.
- Technical Collaboration: Help define and document product specifications for robots, balancing consumer needs, market opportunities, and technical feasibility. Work closely with engineering and software teams to translate consumer insights into practical solutions.
- Cross-Functional Teamwork: Collaborate with engineers, marketers, supply chain, and quality teams to support execution from prototype to mass production. Participate in technical discussions and help resolve roadblocks.
- Competitive Analysis: Assist in benchmarking competitor robots, identifying gaps and opportunities for SharkNinja to improve performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Legacy Product Support: Help gather feedback from consumers and the market to inform next-generation product development for legacy robot lines.
- Quality & Validation: Support Testing and Quality teams in defining and executing robot-specific validation protocols, including firmware, hardware, and system-level testing. Help analyze field performance and consumer feedback.
- Project Assistance: Help track technical project timelines, prioritize initiatives, and support multiple robot programs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Vendor & Partner Coordination: Assist with external partners (e.g., component suppliers, software vendors) to ensure technical requirements are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline.
- Internship, project, or coursework experience in robotics, product development, or software/hardware engineering is a plus.
- Foundational understanding of robotics technologies (navigation, perception, embedded systems, connectivity) and a passion for building innovative, consumer-centric products.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to shifting priorities, and embrace transparency.
- Collaborative, consumer-first mindset and drive to deliver excellent experiences.
