DENTAL CLINICAL MANAGER, School of Dental Medicine, Dental Health Center
The Clinical Manager for the School of Dental Medicine will manage the clinical care staffing and support functions of the delivery of care at the Dental Health Center to ensure that patients are provided with treatment without interruption and delivered with the best care possible.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage all functions and assignments of the clinical support staff.
- Assign all support staff daily/weekly with their assignments to support providers in the delivery of care by assisting, imaging, sterilization and all other patient care related activities.
- Ensure coverage is consistent and schedule is adhered to.
- Adjust schedules as needed to ensure adequate coverage for all clinical functions.
- Work closely with senior leadership to cover clinic during peak periods and training of all new clinical support staff and ensure all DPH guidelines are adhered to.
- Be responsible to distribute all radiology badges and maintain records to ensure implementation of all OSHA and DHC policies are in compliance including following and enforcing all PPE requirements.
- Be responsible for adhering to budgetary guidelines by maintaining inventory control for all supplies and outside contracted services.
- Act as a liaison to all vendors on behalf of the center as it pertains to equipment and supplies.
- Monitor quality control of all impressions/models that are sent to all commercial labs for processing and act as liaison for lab and providers on timely delivery of all cases to ensure patient satisfaction and revenue goals as it pertains to inserting patient case.
- Manage conflict resolution among dental assistants and ensures that problems are addressed immediately and do not escalate.
The Clinical Manager is to act as a role model to the staff and needs to be effective with dealing with difficult situations, team building, coaching and mentoring all staff of the DHC. They will deliver any disciplinary actions as needed such as verbal or written warnings and plans for improvement. The manager must work on developing all skill sets of the clinical team to meet the levels of expectations and maintain good working relationships school wide.
The manager also:
- Ensures that DHC equipment is in optimal condition so that patient care is not interrupted.
- Maintains equipment maintenance and repair schedule.
- Ensures all instruments are in working order and sterilized to meet OSHA and DPH guidelines.
- Maintains all digital equipment is working order and acts as liaison with IT department to rectify any connection problems that would prevent proper usage of any digital equipment as well as any computer concerns within the clinic.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of experience. Required MA Dental Assistant License.
