Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver expert nursing care in the Operating Room setting within a dynamic healthcare environment located in Leominster, MA. This contract opportunity requires a committed Registered Nurse to support surgical teams and ensure exceptional patient outcomes through skilled perioperative nursing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to support patient wellbeing throughout surgical interventions.
- Maintain sterile fields and uphold aseptic techniques to guarantee a safe operative environment.
- Conduct patient identification verifications, operative site confirmations, and manage specimen handling following established protocols.
- Assess and reassess patient status including pain management, administering medications, and responding to emergencies effectively.
- Provide respectful, individualized patient care that promotes dignity and positive self-regard.
- Document all nursing interventions and patient responses thoroughly and accurately.
- Support interdisciplinary communication through timely reporting and patient handoffs.
- Engage proactively in patient safety initiatives by identifying and mitigating risks to reduce healthcare errors.
- Assume responsibility for delegating and supervising nursing tasks and functioning as a resource for colleagues.
- Comply with hospital policies including attendance, hand hygiene, and incident reporting.
Qualifications:
- Current MA RN license required.
- Recent Operating Room experience is mandatory.
- ACLS certification required upon hire or an active BLS card with completion of ACLS within 60 days.
- CNOR certification preferred.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills essential.
- Ability to take call on a rotational basis.
