Bench Scientist - II

Join a Top-Tier Global Pharma Leader in Andover, MA, as a Bench Scientist specializing in upstream mammalian process development. This 1-year onsite contract position offers a premier opportunity to support biologics development (including monoclonal, bispecific, and trispecific antibodies) within a highly collaborative, 10-scientist team environment.

responsibilities:

- Perform hands-on mammalian cell culture workflows utilizing CHO systems and bench-scale bioreactors.
- Set up, operate, monitor, and analyze bioreactor performance parameters including cell density, metabolites, and nutrients.
- Design, execute, and troubleshoot independent laboratory experiments to support upstream optimization.
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation, including laboratory notebooks and batch records, in compliance with internal standards.
- Write detailed experimental plans, protocols, and technical reports to communicate findings cross-functionally.
- Participate in a collaborative weekend and on-call rotation (approximately one weekend per month) to maintain cell lines.
qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant wet lab experience.
- Proven hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture (CHO cells) and bench-scale bioreactor operations.
- Strict proficiency in laboratory aseptic techniques.
- Demonstrated experience designing experiments and writing technical reports.
- Prior Biotech experience.
- Experience with perfusion systems (continuous culture) and bioreactor control systems (e.g., SCADA, DeltaV).
- Familiarity with ELN, LIMS, or statistical analysis software.
