Lead Bartender

We’re looking for an experienced Lead Bartender to help steward our bar program, mentor the team, and set the tone behind the bar—especially during high-volume summer months.

This role is hands-on and service-driven, ideal for someone who loves being behind the bar, cares deeply about guest experience, and enjoys helping a team operate at a high level.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead service behind the bar during shifts, setting the pace, tone, and standards

• Execute Baleine’s cocktail, wine, and beer program with consistency and care

• Support training and onboarding of bartenders and barbacks

• Maintain bar organization, cleanliness, and mise en place

• Assist with inventory management, ordering, and minimizing waste

• Collaborate with ownership on seasonal cocktails, menu updates, and specials

• Uphold responsible alcohol service and all local/state regulations

• Be a calm, professional presence during busy services

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of bartending experience in a quality-driven bar or restaurant

• Strong cocktail fundamentals and solid wine knowledge (or genuine curiosity)

• Natural leadership skills—leads by example, not ego

• Excellent communication and teamwork

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

• Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented

• Available nights, weekends, and peak seasonal shifts

Bonus (Not Required)

• Experience with inventory systems or bar costing

• Interest in natural wine or classic-leaning cocktails

• Prior lead bartender or bar supervisor experience
