Development Assistant
:
The Development Assistant will primarily be responsible for the management, maintenance, reporting and updating of our donor database while working closely with the Director of Development, other staff and board members to implement fundraising and cultivation activities, support Centerboard's development efforts, and help the team to implement existing strategies and brainstorm new ideas.
The Development Assistant will be a highly motivated, fun, organized, inclusive person who is enthusiastic about sharing ideas and being part of a lively, collaborative team. This is a part-time 20-29 hours position; hours and days may be flexible.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS *
- Responsible for all fundraising database management, reporting tasks and projects (proficiency with CRMs a plus).
- Assisting in the stewardship and research of individual donors, corporations, grants, and foundations.
- Regularly analyze and report on donor/gift trends and make recommendations.
- Help to plan and implement all donor solicitation activities.
- Prepare and/or update thank you and acknowledgement templates for proper personalization with individual acknowledgement letters and other correspondence as required.
- Support Director of Development's ability to manage reporting and presentations.
- Provide administrative support for the CEO's and/or Board of Directors and Development Committee's fundraising efforts.
- Any other jobs or essential functions as required or determined necessary.
COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School degree or GED required. College degree or equivalent development experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google platforms.
- Hands-on experience with fundraising software is a plus.
- Results-oriented professional, with excellent organizational skills, follow-through, attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and flexibility.
- An entrepreneurial spirit is a plus and is able to take initiative and to work as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High regard for confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with donors and volunteers.
- Experience with donor cultivation and solicitation, and/or foundation giving, a plus.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends for events.
Qualified candidates should have a basic understanding of an office environment and the role of development, donors, fundraising and gifts. The Development Assistant is required to attend and successfully complete HR agency training and may attend CPR & First Aid. Inclusion and Multi-cultural awareness is an important component to Centerboard Culture. We will require all new hire employees to attend the four hour New Hire Orientation geared to highlight Centerboards commitment to this training.
