EMS Project Manager

Kforce has a client in Boston, MA that is seeking an EMS Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of this Electric Transmission EMS Replacement. Summary: This leading energy and utility provider is undertaking a major initiative to replace its existing Energy Management System (EMS) supporting electric transmission operations. This strategic program will modernize real-time grid monitoring and control capabilities, strengthen system reliability, and align with the organization's long-term digital transformation roadmap. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of the Electric Transmission EMS replacement project - including planning, design, integration, testing, and deployment
• Partner with internal stakeholders across Transmission Operations, IT/OT, Engineering, and Regulatory teams to ensure alignment and delivery of business outcomes
• Oversee vendor selection, contract management, and delivery performance, including system integrators and software providers
• Coordinate integration with existing systems such as SCADA, ADMS, OMS, and market operations platforms
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, risk management plans, and governance structures
• Manage project financials - including budgeting, forecasting, vendor spend tracking, and financial reporting to ensure alignment with program funding and cost targets
• Ensure compliance with NERC/CIP, cybersecurity, and reliability standards throughout the program
• Lead steering committee reporting, program updates, and stakeholder communications
• Support testing, training, cutover, and operational readiness to ensure a seamless transition to the new EMS environment
• Drive change management and user adoption within transmission operations and control center teams
