*Summary: *The Clinician will provide services to support the socio-emotional development and behavioral health of young children in NorthStar’s Early Education Academy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Provision of Services:*

· Develop authentic, respectful relationships with the Academy’s children, families and teachers

· In conjunction with the Director of Clinical Services and Director of Education design and implement best practices and procedures that adhere to policies that keep the social-emotional health needs of children at the forefront of our work.

· Provide outcomes-oriented treatment services, including individual child and family therapy, using various evidence-based treatment modalities.

· Develop individualized behavioral support plans for children, using input from parents and teachers.

· Conduct classroom observations and provide professional development for teachers on creating strategies for supportive and accommodating learning environments

· Conduct needs assessments to document child/family history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus and refer for additional needed assessments in a timely manner.

· Document and assess the effectiveness of specific interventions toward meeting the objectives and goals of treatment plan.

· Initiate referrals to community-based services that meet the needs of children and their families (with parents’ consent)

· Facilitate crisis intervention.

· Work collaboratively with DMH, DPH and DCF staff, court officials, parents, school representatives, and other service providers.

· Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams as needed and align treatment to IEP’s when necessary

· Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervision.

· Maintain accurate, complete, up-to-date clinical records in compliance with agency policies and procedures and appropriate documentation for clinical accountability and reimbursement. Submit all necessary documentation for reimbursement of services in a timely manner. Provide documentation and reports to referral providers.

· Be available for after-hours telephone contact for all assigned clients and families in crisis.

· Participate in rotating backup clinical support via on-call cell phone rotation schedule.

· Maintain professional competency via ongoing continued education.

· Complete and submit all reports and other information in a timely manner.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Demonstrated awareness of strength-based sensitivity to and competence in dealing with cultural and socioeconomic diversity.

· Work collaboratively in diverse multidisciplinary settings on behalf of all population including children, youth, and families and/or the agency.

· Demonstrated understanding of sound ethical practice in conjunction with the established and defined ethics of one’s training and discipline.

· Demonstrated understanding of diagnostic evaluation methods, mental status exams, and use of the DSM-V.

· Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of children, youth, and families, including occasional evenings. .

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to provide training, orientation, consultation and guidance within clinical specialization of practice.

· Demonstrated supervision capabilities in similarly complex environment.

· Excellent work habits (attendance, promptness, timeliness, professionalism).

· Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

· Demonstrated ability to use computers and proficiency in Microsoft Office software and various data management systems.

· Good leadership and teamwork skills.

· Bilingual skills highly desired, with Spanish English a priority.

· Open to feedback, with commitment to continuous professional development.

· Access to a registered, adequately insured vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· M.S.W. or M.A. /M.S. in a relevant field.

· Three years of post-master’s supervised clinical experience in multidisciplinary mental health setting working with diverse, vulnerable populations.

· LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, or other license

· US citizenship or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

· Good driving record (no more than two moving violations in the last three years AND no criminal driving violations in the last seven years).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $64,800.00 - $72,800.00 per year
