Principal Financial Assistant Security Coordinator
Job Description:
Provides general bookkeeping and other financial functions in support of airport operations. Assists the Airport Security Coordinator with the implementation of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) approved Airport Security Program.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma plus two years of advanced coursework in bookkeeping and accounting. Requires an intermediate level of familiarity and use of computers and office automation applications and administrative office procedures. At least two years of progressive municipal government experience with assigned duties as a bookkeeper or accounting clerk with extensive use of computers is desirable.
Capable of passing TSA security check as a prerequisite to working in highly sensitive areas
Additional Qualifications:
Knowledge of standard accounting practices and bookkeeping operations is essential. Knowledge of municipal government funding and/or accounting is a plus. Experience and knowledge of the Town of Barnstable MUNIS software system, to include practical experience in:
- Preparing Purchase Order requisitions
- Assigning proper account codes
- Processing invoices for payment
- Producing specialized and detailed financial reports
- Entering budget and fiscal year financial information
- Knowledge of airport security procedures and practices including TSA 1542 and 1544 regulations
- Knowledge of Ccure 9000 operating system
- Knowledge of MassDOT ID system
- Knowledge of Cognito online form software
Able to receive and act on constructive feedback and maintain a positive presence in the work place. Must have good verbal, written, and communication skills. Able to work in a highly detailed and fast-paced environment without frustration. Able to accurately process accounts payable, accounts receivable and daily cash receipts. Ability to correctly post, numeric data, and maintain appropriate financial and other record keeping controls, e.g., inventory, and consolidation of financial statements. Ability to pay careful attention to details and work independently.
Proficiency and knowledge in the operation of automated, accounting systems. Good written and verbal communicative skills. Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in the use of computers including word processing and spreadsheets are helpful.
