Social Media Strategist (Mat Leave Backfill)

Job Description

We're looking for a highly experienced Social Media Strategist who lives and breathes culture, performance, and storytelling across social platforms. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, data, and creativity, helping shape how a global, iconic brand shows up in culture every day.

You'll bring deep platform expertise, a sharp strategic POV, and a strong understanding of what resonates with modern audiences-especially within fashion, sport, and youth culture. This role is ideal for someone who has worked with top-tier brands and knows how to turn insights into social-first strategies that perform.

Key Responsibilities

Lead social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), and YouTube, ensuring platform-specific excellence

Translate performance data, audience insights, and cultural trends into actionable social strategies

Identify emerging trends, platform shifts, and cultural moments-and proactively recommend how the brand should engage

Partner closely with creative, content, and brand teams to guide storytelling and campaign execution

Oversee performance tracking, reporting, and post-campaign analysis to inform future strategy

Benchmark against competitors and best-in-class brands to keep the brand ahead of the social curve

Ensure brand voice, cultural relevance, and strategic consistency across all social touchpoints

Skills and Requirements

-4+ years of experience in a senior level social media role

-Proven experience working with top global brands or companies (e.g., New Balance, Reebok, NBA, Nike, Converse, or similar)

-Expert-level understanding of Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube-algorithms, formats, trends, and best practices

-Strong strategic mindset with the ability to connect data, culture, and creativity

-Experience shaping social strategy for large-scale, high-visibility brands -Experience working across global or multi-market social accounts

-Familiarity with social analytics, listening, and publishing tools

-Strong storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills
