Senior Applied Scientist, Edge Technology
DESCRIPTION
Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced innovative devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create? We are looking for a high-caliber Senior Applied Scientist to join our team. As part of the larger technology team working on new consumer technology, your work will have a large impact to Amazon consumer product design and features delighting millions of customers. Key job responsibilitiesIn the role, you will:
- Work with AI scientists and SW developers to bring new and innovative audio and multimodal AI features to delight customers
- Propose new research projects, get buy-in from stakeholders, plan and budget the project and lead the team for successful execution
- Work closely with an interdisciplinary product development team including outside partners to bring the prototype algorithm and model into commercialization
- Lead the team on state-of-the-art deep learning technology development
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
