THE ROLE: Senior Accountant

We’re looking for…

An experienced Senior Accountant who can think critically, roll up their sleeves and is excited to build and revamp processes. You will be responsible for ensuring monthly financial entries are complete, accurate, and in compliance with GAAP. We are seeking an inquisitive, self-directed, organized, and energetic accounting professional to join our Finance team! The Sr. Accountant will be expected to work a hybrid schedule (2 days in-office) in our Boston, MA HQ.

What You’ll Do

• Own the monthly close process with specific areas of focus including Fixed Assets, Capitalized Software, Accruals, Prepaids, Intercompany, and detailed account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare journal entries, analysis and reconciliations of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts
• Perform variance analysis of actual vs budget/forecast by department and investigate unusual variances
• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of month end close
• Interact cross functionally with key business leaders to gather all relevant financial data to ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting
• Contribute to department and company on special projects specifically through automation and efficiency efforts and technology implementations

• 4+ years experience performing accounting for a mid-sized company. Retail/ecommerce a plus!
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of major accounting software packages for general ledger accounting and reporting. PeopleSoft and Planful experience a plus.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
• Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
• CPA and/or MSA a plus
  
  

Pay Range: 85k - 100k
