Role Description Form Energy is hiring an experienced professional to own the development and execution of Form’s global supply chain strategy for an array of critical battery raw materials used in Form’s pioneering iron-air battery systems. This role reports to the Manager, Global Supply Management (“GSM”) for Active Battery Materials. As part of the “Actives” team, you will establish and execute on Form’s commercial-scale sourcing strategy, owning key categories like bulk commodity chemicals, specialty carbons and catalysts, made-to-spec tapes, electroplated coatings, and other raw materials. You will deliver shrewd insights based on a deep understanding of upstream manufacturing processes, market trends, and Form’s requirements, ensuring delivery of quality materials that meet Form’s bold performance, cost, and timeline needs. The successful candidate will rely on their combination of business acumen, technical depth, innate curiosity, and experience across raw materials categories to bring strategic approaches and oversight to the sourcing of these critical components, while developing and maintaining positive, productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners alike. What You'll Do- Own the battery raw materials and coatings category at Form (e.g., specialty chemicals, metals, carbons, binders, resins, and coatings), including commercial relationships and contracts within our supply base and value chain
- Monitor current category market conditions, evaluating capacities and competitive landscapes, technology roadmaps and supply challenges & opportunities
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Supplier Industrialization, Manufacturing, and Leadership to define and drive execution of Form’s battery materials sourcing strategy
- Negotiate and deliver favorable commercial terms that optimize costs, lead times, and risk
- Ensure Form is working with best-in-class suppliers and mitigating risks by managing the end-to-end sourcing process from supplier identification through RFP, business award, and continuous improvement
- Secure best-in-class pricing through detailed price analysis and negotiations, continual cost reductions, cost avoidance, and logistics optimization
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar discipline
- 5+ years of relevant category experience in battery raw materials, chemicals, or coatings, including relevant manufacturing methods and market/pricing dynamics
- 5+ years of sourcing experience including supplier management, running RFX’s, and driving continuous improvement, in a fluid, fast-paced, manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to generate bottom-up “should-cost” models based on an understanding of manufacturing processes; strong with spreadsheets
- Solid understanding of commercial terms, contract structures, and IP concepts
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to ruthlessly prioritize across multiple tasks and projects
- Ability to work in the US and travel globally as necessary, up to 30%.
Compensation Range: $97.2K - $139.8K
