Facilities Engineer (FAC01-3)

POSITION SUMMARY:

TScan Therapeutics is a clinical stage cell therapy company seeking to revolutionize life-changing therapeutics for patients by identifying novel T cells and epitopes. We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our team as Facilities Engineer, supporting our scientists and operations teams. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in a biotech facility and basic biotech instrumentation as well as general facilities functions, and enjoy fast-paced, collaborative and vibrant startup culture. A team player with a sense of urgency will thrive in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This role is key in supporting the startup, certification and ongoing production and maintenance of TSCAN’s clinical GMP manufacturing facility and the operation of the R&D facility.
• Works cross functionally with various vendors to develop and execute commission and validation packages (i.e. protocols, final reports, creation of SOPs) related to the facility systems (facilities/HVAC/utilities systems).
• Leads the installation of equipment for the manufacturing and quality control areas.
• Develops, maintains and executes equipment preventive maintenance(PM) and calibration programs.
• Works closely with vendors and internal teams for preparation and execution of calibrations and PM’s.
• Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves problems which occur during routine operations tied to the facility.
• Assist with IOQ of GMP equipment.
• Respond to BMS/EMS alarms.
• Work with scientists to move/relocate lab equipment.
• Maintain and manage all facility support infrastructure and vendors (electrician, HVAC, pH system, vacuum system, generator, CO2, Compressed Air, etc.).
• Team member for facility construction projects.
• Collaborate with the finance team on annual budget projects for the facility.
• Partner with our EH&S consultants to maintain a safe working environment.
• Other duties as they are defined.

REQUIREMENTS:

• B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, or biotech Engineering
• 3-8 years experience with process and/or plant utility systems, preferably in a regulated environment
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required to work effectively and efficiently in a team-based environment
• Adherence to domestic and international GMP regulations
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Proficiency with Microsoft products; ability to learn additional software applications
