This position is part of the R&D department located in Waltham, MA and will be on-site. At Aldevron, we combine best-in-class products and service with the ideal operating environment to lay the groundwork for vital new discoveries worldwide. You will be a part of the cell-free DNA team and report to the Associate Director responsible for DNA and New Platforms.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Lead a small team to develop innovation to progress the strategy of the cell-free DNA platform
• Manage project resourcing and timelines to deliver results
• Perform experiments to improve quality or processes related to production of cell-free DNA
• Establish new site operations including preparation of laboratory, installation of equipment, development of SOPs, etc.
• Creating detailed project summary reports and presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
  
  

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

• PhD in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline with 5+ years of experience, MS with 7+ years of experience, or BS with 10+ years of experience in related industry
• At least 3+ years of experience (additional with educational achievement outlined above) in an industry R&D setting with leadership responsibilities
• Proven track record of developing novel assays/techniques to achieve molecular biology goals
• Experience related to production, amplification, or modification of nucleic acids; purification of nucleic acids; and analytics related to nucleic acids
• Experience in mammalian cell culture techniques including expression-based assays, flow cytometry, and cell viability assays
  
  

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

• Some travel may be required
  
  

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Isothermal amplification of nucleic acids including rolling circle amplification (RCA)
• Analytical methods using HPLC
