Executive Chef Full-Service Catering Company
Location: Parsippany, NJ—Training in Massachusetts or Connecticut.
Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 annually plus performance bonus

Position Overview
We're looking for an experienced executive chef to oversee all culinary operations in our Boston facility. You'll manage menu development, food preparation, and kitchen staff while maintaining our high standards for quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership
- Develop seasonal menus and recommend improvements to current offerings
- Oversee all food production, including sauce preparation and recipe development
- Conduct quality control tastings and provide constructive feedback to staff
- Manage hot line operations to ensure timely, high-quality food preparation
Team Management
- Hire, train, and schedule kitchen staff
- Build team efficiency through cross-training initiatives
- Provide regular performance feedback and hold staff accountable
- Ensure proper break schedules and staff well-being
- Recommend exceptional performers for owner recognition
Operations Management
- Monitor inventory and manage purchasing from approved vendors
- Control food and paper costs while maintaining quality standards
- Implement waste reduction strategies
- Maintain kitchen equipment and schedule preventive maintenance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Participate in weekly strategy meetings with ownership
Quality Assurance
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness to company and health code standards
- Oversee food presentation and plating standards
- Ensure all menu items meet quality specifications
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of high-volume catering or banquet culinary leadership experience
- Proven track record managing culinary operations and kitchen teams
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Exceptional culinary skills with passion for food presentation and creativity
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Valid driver's license
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional training
- Corporate and wedding catering experience
- Experience with inventory management and cost control
