Senior Accountant – Private Home Care Business
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team for a growing private home care organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of the accounting close process, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Manage general ledger and month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Analyze variances and trends in revenue, expenses, and profitability across service lines and locations.
- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accounting functions.
- Support external audits and coordinate with auditors to provide requested documentation.
- Ensure proper accounting for collections, and revenue recognition.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and assist management with decision support analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in home care, or related service industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
- Experience with iSolve payroll systems and homecare billing preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail and integrity handling confidential financial information.
