Assistant Garden Center Manager

Paramount Designs Inc. is a locally owned and operated landscape company, garden center, and flower shop. We are seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Garden Center Manager to support daily operations, lead team members, and ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Position Overview : The Assistant Garden Center Manager works closely with ownership and garden center staff to oversee day-to-day operations. This role combines leadership, plant knowledge, retail management, and customer service, serving as a key support to maintain efficient operations and a strong, collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Assist in supervising and leading garden center staff, including interns and seasonal employees
• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer questions, concerns, and escalations
• Oversee and participate in plant care, including watering, pruning, fertilizing, and monitoring plant health
• Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing retail displays and sales areas
• Support inventory management, including ordering, receiving, merchandising, and rotation
• Help coordinate deliveries, customer orders, and loading of materials
• Train and guide team members on plant care, retail practices, and daily tasks
• Identify and communicate operational issues, plant health concerns, and opportunities for improvement
• Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment while managing multiple tasks
• Maintain reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic while leading by example
• Possess knowledge of horticulture, landscaping, or garden center operations (preferred)
• Have prior leadership or supervisory experience (preferred)
• Be physically capable of lifting, moving materials, and working in varying weather conditions
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
