Join our Boston Adoption Center team as a Full-Time Assistant Manager (40 hours/week, weekends required). Relocation assistance available for out of state applicants.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
You’ll work closely with our Shelter Manager and Director of Operations to:
- Guide and support an incredible team of staff and volunteers
- Ensure top-quality daily care for animals in our center
- Create positive, respectful experiences for adopters, surrenderers, and visitors
- Assist with training, scheduling, performance development, and team culture
- Provide euthanasia counseling while upholding the highest standard of respectful, compassionate care
- Model the kindness and professionalism that define the MSPCA

Salary: $55,000–$70,000 , depending on experience.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
The MSPCA Boston Adoption Center is a vibrant, mission-driven community hub within Massachusetts’ largest animal welfare organization. Across our four centers, we care for more than 11,000 animals annually with over 2,000 right here in Boston. Our site includes a low-cost community clinic, a wide range of outreach programs, and a 92% live release rate we’re incredibly proud of.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 1 year of management or supervisory experience (non-profit preferred)
- 2 years in animal sheltering, veterinary services, or comparable human-services fields preferred
- A compassionate, people-centered leader who believes deeply in helping animals and their families
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
- A commitment to maintaining the positive, supportive culture we’ve built
- Spanish proficiency is a plus!
