Day Porter
Join a dedicated facilities team committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. As a Day Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the grounds and exterior areas of our property are always presentable and well-kept. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy being outdoors, and are attentive to detail. Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will help create a positive first impression for everyone who visits our property.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all exterior grounds, including walkways, roadways, and parking lots.
- Remove trash and debris from all outdoor areas and empty exterior trash receptacles regularly.
- Rake leaves, prune trees, and care for flower beds and landscaped areas according to established standards.
- Keep the grounds equipment storage area organized and tidy.
- Ensure the grounds vehicle is clean inside and out at all times.
- Clear building entrances of trash, cigarette butts, leaves, and similar debris daily.
- Water plants as needed to maintain healthy landscaping.
- Inspect parking lots and outdoor areas for cleanliness and address any issues promptly.
- Perform additional grounds-related tasks as assigned by the Engineering and Maintenance department.
- Report any dangerous conditions or safety hazards immediately to the Facility Manager.
- Communicate relevant findings and recommendations to the Facility Manager as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility for maintaining a clean environment.
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work, including lifting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Willingness to follow established procedures and safety guidelines.
