Boston Healthcare Job Details

• Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Boston, MA 02215
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (travel contract)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Level I Trauma Surgery – 10 operating rooms
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 20, 2025
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (7p–7a); first week orientation: 3 12-hour day shifts (7a–7:30p)
• Hours per Week: 36 (3 shifts/week)
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (excludes on-call)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2700-$2770
• Float Required: No
• Weekend/Holiday: 2 weekends/month; eligible to work holidays during contract

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Massachusetts preferred)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience
• Proven experience in kidney transplant, neuro, spine, ortho trauma, and robotics surgeries
• Clinical background in transplant, trauma, and neuro cases
• Scrub and/or circulate experience in general surgery, robotics, transplants, ortho, neuro, spine, ENT (head & neck), GYN, urology, trauma, and organ procurement
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Boston facility (no local travelers)
• Flu vaccination required prior to acceptance
• Ability to attend weekly orientation (Mondays)

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care for diverse surgical procedures in a Level I Trauma Center
• Scrub and/or circulate for advanced surgeries: robotics, transplants, ortho trauma, neuro, spine, ENT, GYN, urology
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain strict compliance with safety and infection control protocols
• Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development
• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays
