Position Summary
Jewish Family & Children's Service is seeking a Director to lead our suite of skill building and coaching programs for adults with disabilities, autism and neurodiverse backgrounds. This is a leadership role that is high impact and high visibility, with an opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families.
This is a multi-faceted role – combining program management, program development, clinical guidance and strategic vision. The Director will oversee our suite of Life Skills Coaching and Supports programming, which provide skill building and support around independent living, social skills, and employment to adults with disabilities, autism, and neurodiverse backgrounds. They will build on our strong base of skill building programs by providing clinical support and administrative oversight, while also promoting and growing our services in this area.
The Life Skills Coaching and Supports programming has a combination of private pay and DDS revenue streams, which currently serves over 100 clients per year with a staff team of 13 (three of whom are direct reports). The Director sets objectives, monitors performance, and provides direction and leadership in all programs under their umbrella. The Director will also be responsible for cultivating referral sources and growing this suite of services for individuals with disabilities, autism and neurodiverse backgrounds, through developing relationships with DDS, other service providers, parent groups, and other community organizations.
This is a full-time position. Schedule may be flexible and includes hybrid (in-office and remote) work options, with the expectation of at least two days a week in our Waltham office.
About You
Our ideal candidate is a strong leader with both a clinical and program development mindset. Experience in and a passion for serving adults with disabilities, autism and neurodiverse backgrounds and their families is required. The ability to assess incoming clients’ support needs, problem solve as needed around current clients’ support needs, identify gaps in services and work with the team to identify solutions, all with a clinically-informed lens and expertise is required. Communicating effectively and professionally while forming strong relationships with clients, families, collateral partners and referral sources is essential to the role. Experience with growing a program and with both private pay and DDS revenue sources is preferred.
The successful candidate will likely have a Master’s degree in a related field, as well as 7+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families, with at least 3 of those years being in a leadership or management role.
