Senior Mechanical Engineer
Job Description
Insight Global is currently seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to support facilities equipment installation, troubleshooting, and project construction for one of their top semiconductor customers. The role requires a senior-level skilled engineer, capable of solving mechanical system capacity and resiliency. The candidate will operate as an interface between 3rd party engineers supporting larger construction projects as well as supporting day-to-day issues as they arise related to the mechanical infrastructure. They will play a leading role in defining process and mechanical system standards and requirements. The candidate will lead the company's environmental and sustainability goals from a facilities infrastructure perspective. This role reports to the Director of Facilities Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for various facilities-related projects.
o Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure project completed within specifications, on-time, and within budget.
o Mentor junior engineers and maintenance technicians by providing technical guidance and support.
o Prepare and review technical documentation, specifications, reports, and design schematics.
o Ensure all projects comply with relevant safety, regulatory, and Global Engineering standards. Conduct feasibility studies, root cause analysis, and technical assessments.
o Work closely with multidisciplinary engineers and teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger projects.
o Identify and resolve complex technical issues, conducting diagnostics and performance evaluations of mechanical systems. Subject matter expert during root cause analysis activities when discussing mechanical systems and delivery.

Interact with manufacturing engineers and leaders supporting factory growth and optimization.

Ensure safe practices are leveraged by contractors and technicians when performing maintenance and repairs.

Driving sustainable methods for operation to conserve utility resources aligning to Global Engineering initiatives.
Pay Ranges from $38-45/hr based on qualifications and years of experience.

Skills and Requirements

BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Ten (10) years or more experience in a facilities or construction mechanical engineering role.

Class 1 production area environment
-
HVAC Systems: Chillers/Towers > 900-ton, steam boilers, process cooling, process vacuum, make-up air systems > 50k CFM, return air systems/filtration, humidification systems.

Mechanical systems: Motor and pump service, alignment, lubrication, bearing & seal replacements.

Ultra-Pure Water manufacturing: RO/DI

Life-safety fire alarm systems: Wet and dry, NFPA inspections / requirements.

Must be able to read schematics (mechanical/electrical) and P&IDs.

Must be proficient with AutoCAD version MEP2023

Must be able to respond to short notice issues and site emergencies off-hours and weekends. - 5-10 years or more experience with semiconductor Facilities such as:
o Toxic Gas systems: ACM, TGM, DOD PS-7 sensors, system integrations, PLC programming and sensor semi-annual gas challenging.
o Proficiency using volt-ohm, amperage, loop & process calibrators and source output meters.
o Siemens "Insight/Apogee/Desigo" building operations & programming.
