Key Job Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implement control algorithms for robot locomotion
  • Develop behaviors that enable the robot to traverse diverse terrain
  • Develop methods that seamlessly integrate stability, locomotion, and manipulation tasks
  • Create dynamics models and simulations that enable sim2real transfer of algorithms
  • Collaborate effectively with multi‑disciplinary teams to co‑design hardware and algorithms for locomotion‑manipulation
  • Mentor junior engineer and scientists

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD, or Master’s degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience
  • Strong foundation in robot dynamics and control theory
  • Experience with model‑predictive control and reinforcement learning for locomotion
  • Experience with simulation environments such as IsaacLab, Mujoco, Drake, etc.
  • Experience with developing and deploying code for real‑time controllers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languageExperience working effectively across cross‑functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization
  • PhD in Robotics with a focus on locomotion
  • Experience with low‑level joint torque/impedance control
  • Experience with robotics frameworks for fast prototyping (Matlab, ROS, etc.)
