Job Description

Job Title: Housekeeper

Position Type: Temporary

Department: Environmental Services

Position Summary

Temporary Housekeeper Mon-Thur 8:30am - 3:00pm, Fri 8:30am - 12:00pm (27.5 hrs/wk)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Experience: Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper. Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance and attention to detail. Must have strong prioritization and time management skills with the ability to work quickly without compromising quality.

Position Responsibilities: Performing a variety of cleaning activities including but not limited to dusting, mopping and spot mopping of floors, vacuuming of carpets, cleaning of interior mirrors, pictures, glass partitions, window ledges, doors, and similar items. Clean and sanitize toilets, washrooms and restrooms, showers, etc. Replenish and replace tissues, towels, soap and other similar items. Dust desks, tables, chairs, furnishings, and other similar items. Empty refuse containers, pick up and remove debris and trash, place in designated areas or receptacles.

Special Job Requirements (such as hours, accuracy, special equipment and/or working conditions):

Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions for thoroughness in performing duties. Position may necessitate exposure to outside weather or heat. Good health; physical strength and agility sufficient to perform building cleaning work. Bending, squatting, twisting, and/or crouching are required constantly throughout the day. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must know how to use and maintain basic housekeeping tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 30lbs.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Work Conditions

• Work may take place indoors or outdoors depending on assignment.
• Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Compensation

• Hourly rate $17.50

Weekly Hours

27.5

Annual Work Schedule
