Job Description
The Quality Technician performs detailed inspections of materials and components used in RF technologies and EMI shielding composites for government-related applications. This role conducts incoming, in-process, and final inspections, accurately documents findings, and collaborates closely with engineering to ensure that any quality issues are quickly identified, communicated, and resolved.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspections on materials used in RF technologies and EMI shielding composites to ensure they meet specified requirements before use in production.
- Conduct in-process inspections at various stages of manufacturing to verify that parts and assemblies conform to engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Carry out final inspections on finished products to confirm they meet all quality criteria and customer requirements prior to release.
- Use precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, height gages, pin gages, and radius gages, to take accurate measurements and verify tolerances.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand dimensional and quality requirements for inspected parts.
- Perform visual inspections to identify defects, irregularities, or nonconformances in materials and finished products.
- Document inspection results clearly and accurately throughout the process, maintaining detailed records of measurements, findings, and any nonconformances.
- Communicate inspection findings and quality issues promptly to engineering and relevant team members to support timely corrective actions and repairs.
- Follow established quality control procedures and GMP-related practices as applicable to maintain consistent inspection standards.
- Work effectively within a lab environment alongside other quality inspectors, contributing to a collaborative and quality-focused team culture.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure that all inspections are thorough and accurate.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on recurring issues and potential process enhancements related to quality.
Essential Skills
- At least 1+ years of experience in quality inspection or quality control.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, pin gages, and radius gages.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience performing visual inspections and documenting quality findings.
- Familiarity with quality control practices and, where applicable, GMP-related processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a lab environment alongside other quality inspectors.
- Ability to communicate clearly with engineering and other team members regarding quality issues and nonconformances.
- Successful completion of a 5-panel drug test and screening, as required for this role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience inspecting composite materials or components used in RF technologies or EMI shielding applications.
- Previous work in environments supporting government or defense-related products.
- Comfort working with a variety of precision measuring devices and inspection tools beyond those listed, as needed.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining thorough inspection records and documentation.
- Ability to adapt to established lab procedures and quality systems while contributing to continuous improvement.

Work Environment
This position operates in a lab-based quality environment, working alongside approximately 15–20 other quality inspectors. The standard shift runs from 3:30 pm to 12:00 am, providing a consistent schedule in an evening environment. The lab is equipped with precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, pin gages, and radius gages, as well as other inspection devices needed to evaluate RF and EMI shielding composite materials. The setting emphasizes careful handling of materials, adherence to defined quality procedures, and collaboration with engineering and production teams.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Amesbury, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.12 - $31.31/hr.
