Position Overview
Emerging Tech is seeking experienced Medical Technologists / Clinical Laboratory Scientists to support laboratory operations at the Boston VA Medical Center. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about laboratory science and committed to delivering accurate, timely diagnostic results in service of our nation’s veterans.

The Medical Technologist will perform a full range of clinical laboratory testing in support of patient diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention while ensuring compliance with Department of Veterans Affairs standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex laboratory tests, analyses, and procedures across assigned laboratory sections such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and blood bank.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation while adhering to quality control and quality assurance standards.
• Analyze, validate, and interpret test results, identify discrepancies, and take appropriate corrective action.
• Accurately document and report laboratory data in accordance with VA regulations and laboratory protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory personnel to support efficient workflows and high-quality patient care.
• Comply with all safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements including CLIA, CAP, and VA standards.
• Participate in proficiency testing, instrument validation, and continuous process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related scientific field.
• ASCP or AMT certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with laboratory equipment and laboratory information systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Must successfully pass a background check, drug screening, and VA credentialing process.
