Job Details
The Accounting Manager supports senior leadership in overseeing day-to-day accounting and finance operations. This position is responsible for accurate financial reporting, managing a small team, and contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and process improvements. The role also includes analytical support for strategic decision-making and ensures compliance with internal controls and external reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Flow Oversight – Monitor daily cash activity, prepare short-term cash forecasts, and escalate discrepancies to leadership.
Financial Reporting – Create and review monthly and quarterly reports; assist in year-end close activities.
Budgeting & Forecasting – Partner with department leads to gather budget data, track performance, and provide variance analysis.
Audit Support – Coordinate external audit efforts and prepare documentation for tax, insurance, and retirement plan audits.
Process Improvements – Identify ways to enhance efficiency through updated accounting practices and systems.
Ad-Hoc Analysis – Deliver financial insights and reports in response to management needs.
Key Qualifications
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting/ERP systems
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
Ability to work effectively under deadlines in a dynamic environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Team Leadership
Responsible for supervising selected finance personnel, which may include:
Accounts Payable Specialist
Accounts Receivable Specialist
Payroll Specialist
Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
Prior supervisory or team lead experience is preferred
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CMA certification is a plus
Familiarity with Acumatica ERP software
