History and Social Studies TeacherWillow Hill School is hiring a History and Social Studies Teacher for the School Year 2026-2027, with a start date of August 24, 2026. Founded in 1970, Willow Hill School provides a supportive and individualized educational program for middle and high school students who are capable of advancing along a strong academic curriculum but have experienced frustration in earlier school settings. Located in Sudbury, MA our school consists of students in grades 6 through 12.Duties and Responsibilities Include: Teach 5-6 sections of US and World History to classes of up to 8 studentsDifferentiate instruction and scaffold assignments to meet the needs of our diverse learning populationAct as an advisor to a small group of 3-4 studentsWrite progress reports and narratives detailing student progressDevelop curriculum, instruction and student assessmentCollaborate with teachers, faculty and staff to meet the individual needs of students with diverse learning needsAttend and actively participate in weekly Staff MeetingsCollaborate with other departments to coordinate efforts for student supportModel a passion, expertise and excitement for HistoryMaintain and communicate up to date student grades and academic progressWork collaboratively with colleagues to foster a positive working and educational environment that supports the Schools missionAttend all staff meetings, department meetings, professional development days, orientation, pre IEPs, and other appropriate meetings as they ariseOther duties, as assignedDesired Qualifications and Skills: Bachelors Degree, Masters degree preferred Previous experience teaching children with learning differences or other special needs in a school settingAbility to collaborate and work in a team environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and ability to work with othersAlignment and commitment with Willow Hill Schools mission statement and student bodyWillow Hill School offers competitive salaries and a generous benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance plans as well as providing an employer contribution to a retirement plan.
