Chef-Assisted Living-32 hour position
:
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required: culinary degree preferred. At least 2 years of strong culinary experience required, preferably in a senior living or hospitality environment
- Serve Safe Certification
- Possess a full understanding of cooking methods, procedures, and knife handling skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Knowledgeable of Alzheimer's Disease and dementia
- Must be a team player
- Enjoy working with a senior population
Physical Requirements: Ability to walk and stand 90% of scheduled shift. Ability to lift a maximum of 40 lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Review menus prior to cooking
- Review diet needs with staff to ensure to correct diets are served appropriately
- Learn diet profiles of each resident
- Responsible for dating all food when stored
- Assist in outside activities
- Responsible to maintain a temperature log for all food served
- Assist in the development, printing and distribution of a daily menus
- Assist in daily or scheduled duties
- Assist in food production planning with the Culinary Director
- Attend in-services, training programs and meetings designed to improve knowledge and improve job performance as required
- Will share responsibility for additional cook coverage if needed
- Perform all job functions in a safe and hazard-free manner
- Develop professional relationships with family members
- Any other duties as assigned by Executive Director
- Be available to work various shifts/weekends
