What You’ll Do
Simplisafe is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our User Systems team to develop and maintain our cloud based backend systems that power our native mobile applications.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, QA specialists, and product managers within a cross-functional team to deliver end-to-end solutions for our backend systems.
- Drive performance, reliability, and scalability improvements for our cloud based backend systems, ensuring a seamless experience for our users.
- Champion high-quality code by actively participating in design and code reviews, and by writing thorough, maintainable tests.
- Create clear and concise documentation for the systems you develop, facilitating knowledge transfer and future maintenance.
- Providing on-call support as a first responder for team-owned software, ensuring system stability.
- Nurture talent by mentoring and guiding junior members of the team.
- Take full ownership of projects, from initial concept to deployment and beyond, both within your immediate team and in collaboration with other departments.
What You’ll Bring
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, combined with 5+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Solid proficiency in at least one major programming language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, Java, Go, Python, or C#, with the flexibility to work in a polyglot environment.
- Demonstrable experience in building, deploying, and maintaining robust cloud-based backend systems on platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- A practical understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and DevOps principles.
- A strong sense of responsibility and accountability for your work.
- An inherent passion for software development, a commitment to continuous learning, and a proactive growth mindset.
