Labor Foreman
LABOR FOREMAN
Reports to: Field Services Team Supervisor
FSLA: Exempt
Objective: Train and mentor laborers; directly manage specific trades and assure compliance to specification and project schedules; assist the site superintendent with managing the project site, including but not limited to assigning appropriate labor staff, creating and managing various site reports as needed, and enforcing safety rules and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train and mentor laborers
- Directly manage specific trades or people on the job and assures compliance to specification and project schedule
- Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities
- Assist superintendent with the following:
- Managing non-Windover laborers
- Assigning appropriate laborer staff to projects
- Managing and controlling safety on the site
- Maintaining and managing subcontractor and visitor sign-in logs.
- Creating and managing daily reports on Procore when needed, at the super’s discretion
- Report any problems, damage, hazardous conditions, and oversights to superintendents
- Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
- Always maintain a clean and organized job site, both inside and outside the fence
- Control traffic passing near, in and around the work area
- Open and close job site under superintendent’s direction
- Listen to, understand, and exceed your customer’s expectations
- Treat everyone with respect
Skills:
- Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Capable of communicating with others and convey information effectively
- Ability to select and use training methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask

Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Laborer
- Knowledge of material, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of houses and buildings
- Certifications: OSHA 30 Hour Certification
- Responsible for supplying basic hand tools (Power tools and specialty tools will be provided)

Physical Demands while performing the duties of this job:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may lift heavy objects no heavier than 50 lbs. without assistance, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; and uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
The position requires:
- Good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
- The ability to quickly move arms and legs
- Talking and hearing, both in person and by telephone
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have excellent stamina.
Mental Demands while performing the duties of this job:
Regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; and work under intensive deadlines with frequent interruptions.
