Assistant Geologist/Scientist - Marlborough, MA

KOMAN Government Solutions has an immediate need for an Assistant Geologist/Scientist in Marlborough, MA. Responsible for providing support to the project team in executing all aspects of project work. Assignments will typically be related to one or more of the following: project plan preparation and permitting; site investigation, environmental monitoring and multimedia sampling; remedial action implementation and operation & maintenance (O&M), and other projects as opportunities become available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning and Execution...

• Support and prepare project plans
• Support and prepare permit applications
• Prepare for field investigations/sampling events
• Assemble required documentation and checklists
• Assist in coordinating equipment, materials, and subcontractors

Field Investigation...

• Support field investigations/sampling events
• Collect environmental samples and field measurements
• Ensure project plans and associated safety and quality control requirements are implemented
• Maintain field forms and other documentation
• Summarize data and assist with technical report preparation

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in environmental science, geology, or related science.
• 0-4 years of relevant work experience
• Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
• Current OSHA 40-hour training for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) or ability to obtain before commencing employment is desired
• Ability and willingness to undertake frequent travel (estimated 25-40% on average)
