Job Title: Registered Nurse – GI Lab / Endoscopy

Location: Hyannis, MA

Position Type: Travel

Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift – Rotating Start Times (7:00 AM–3:30 PM / 8:30 AM–5:00 PM / 9:00 AM–5:30 PM)

Weekly Hours: 40 Hours

Call Requirement: Weeknight call: 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM; Weekend call: 24-hour rotation (Saturday & Sunday)

Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Registered Nurse – GI Lab / Endoscopy for an exciting Travel job in Hyannis, MA.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing GI and endoscopy procedures
• Assist physicians during procedures including colonoscopy, polypectomy, biopsy, PEG placement, esophageal dilation, banding, and electrocautery
• Support moderate sedation administration under physician supervision per hospital protocol
• Perform pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and post-procedure patient care
• Monitor patients for complications, pain management, and recovery status
• Conduct patient and family education throughout the care process
• Initiate discharge planning at the time of admission
• Perform post-procedure follow-up phone calls
• Assess physical, psychological, and social patient needs continuously
• Utilize and maintain accurate documentation using nursing informatics systems
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, infection control, and hospital policies
• Participate in ongoing performance improvement initiatives
• Participate in weeknight and weekend on-call rotation
• Maintain professionalism and deliver high-quality patient-centered care

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Minimum 2–3 years of recent Endoscopy/GI Lab experience (within last 5 years)
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current BLS certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Moderate Sedation certification required
• Successful completion of Pharmacology exam required
• Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia program or challenge exam required
• Strong knowledge of GI procedural nursing care and sedation monitoring
• Ability to work rotating shifts and participate in on-call coverage
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment
