Emmaus is seeking an energetic, supportive and committed individual to fill an opening for a direct care/ case manager position in our emergency shelter for homeless adults. Mitch’s Place is a fast-paced emergency overnight shelter serving 40+ individuals a night.

Emmaus, Inc., a non-profit agency located in Haverhill, MA, is seeking an energetic, supportive and committed individual to fill a Direct Care position in our emergency shelter for homeless adults.

Emmaus is willing to provide training and support to help the right person to grow into the job.

Requirements of the Direct Care Professional:

• Must work a second shift schedule of 2pm-10pm Monday- Friday including an on-call rotation
• This position is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of our 40+ bed adult shelter.
• Ensure timely referral, screening, intake process for shelter guests.
• Maintain detailed log of shift activities including incident reports as needed
• Monitor and address guest safety concerns
• Maintain a calendar of volunteers for food and meal preparation and ensure meals are delivered in a timely fashion.
• Strong interpersonal skills and detail oriented with strong follow through.
• Able to read, write and speak in English.
• Must have be able to pass a driving record and CORI check
• Must be vaccinated against COVID19
