About the Role:

Aquila is seeking a Cyber Protection Specialist to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The Cyber Protection Specialist will be part of a team who are responsible for operating the Organizations Vulnerability Management Program. The program’s framework operates roles in knowledge base, scanning, reporting, collaboration, enterprise services and task board.

There are a few requirements for the position:

• Must be a U.S Citizen- Authorized to Work in the US - Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)

Must Have:

• Working knowledge of IT security best practices as well as a high degree of troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve issues required
• Demonstrated technical depth with multiple Operating Systems (OS) (Windows, Linux, Mac)
• Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on experience with vulnerability remediation across multiple Operating System (OS) platforms to include Linux, Mac and Windows
• Demonstrated proficiency with data analytics and supporting working groups
• Cyber Monitoring
• Cyber security operations systems best practices
• Experienced with security compliance and operational processes
• Experience working in cybersecurity
• Nessus Security Center (or ACAS, Tenable’s Security Center)
• NIST 800-171
• Security Assessments, Tests, and Reviews
• Excellent customer service skills and exceptional customer facing skills
• Excellent communication (both oral and writing) and organizational skills

Nice to have:

• Ability to work analytically in a problem-solving environment
• Ability to review, interpret and translate data as it relates to vulnerability remediation
• Ability to learn new technologies and disciplines quickly
• Perform in a fast-paced environment at times with minimal supervision and execute project and administrative tasks with a high degree of quality, while following existing processes and establishing new operational procedures and best practices along with handling multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and meet deadlines
• Ability to work with members of other teams and staff to achieve department and organizational goals
• Perform all related duties as assigned.

• 2 years Data Analysis
• Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)
• 3 years Operating System (OS) platforms (Linux, Mac, Windows)
• 5 years Cyber Monitoring
• 5 years Cyber security operations systems best practices
• 3 years IT Security Experience
• 5 years Nessus Security Center (or ACAS)
• 3 years NIST 800-171
• 3 years Security Assessments, Tests, and Reviews
• Strong customer service skills and communication
• 3 years Hands-on experience with vulnerability remediation across multiple OS's (Linux, Mac and Windows)

Work location: HYBRID- This position is HYBRID. The individual will be required to be onsite 2-3 days a week.
