Controller – Canton, MA (Onsite → Hybrid Later)

Our client is seeking a hands‑on Controller to lead all core accounting operations and partner closely with senior leadership in a collaborative, low‑turnover environment. Key Responsibilities

• Lead A/R, A/P, payroll, GL, reconciliations, and monthly close.
• Manage and mentor two direct reports.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and investor reports.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain strong internal controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Manage tax filings and coordinate with auditors.
• Oversee inventory and cost accounting processes.
• Monitor cash flow and maintain banking relationships and covenant reporting.
• Drive process improvements and support cross‑department decision‑making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in accounting
• Certified Public Accounting designation is preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Highly comfortable with technology, systems, and emerging AI tools, with a track record of using them to improve process efficiency, reporting accuracy, and overall finance team productivity
• 7+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience, including experience in a senior accounting leadership role; experience in Consumer / Retail industry strongly preferred
• Excellent organizational skills & strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and integrity
• Experience with Shopify and A2000 ERP a plus
• Exceptional work ethic and the ability to work independently without considerable oversight

• Can work closely with company but also the PE firm.
• Shopify experience (Preferred)
• D2C (Direct to Consumer)/ Wholesale experience (Preferred)
