About the Role:

The Technician, Prototyping will work under the direction of the Production Supervisor and support all areas of R&D cell development, assembly, processing, and characterization. Primary responsibilities of this position include (1) prototype battery assembly (2) materials preparation and processing (3) basic technical analysis and documentation

Key Responsibilities

1. • Prepare active and inactive materials for daily cell building activities; requires operating mechanical process equipment and documentation for material inventory tracking
   • Assemble development cells at various stages of the R&D process including hand-built lab prototypes per test request requirements
   • Execute cell dimensional measurements and record data for analysis by engineering team
   • Support general R&D work as directed by supervisor – analytical testing, data compilation, lab cleaning, material preparation, inventory data entry and new equipment set up

Qualifications:

1. • High School diploma required
   • Demonstrated electro-mechanical skills: equipment operation, materials handling, process assembly, and analytical testing
   • Ability to grasp technical concepts and communicate in a data driven manner
   • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and also as part of team
   • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook email applications

Required Experience

1. • Minimum 1-3 years relevant technical experience required or applicable technical education

Areas of Independent Action

1. • Understand critical to quality aspects of material prep and cell assembly to make pass/fail decisions during cell building process (as applicable to individual’s assembly assignment)
