Job Summary

Summary

Performs a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision. Reports to a Laboratory Supervisor. Responsibilities include receipt accessioning centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens and communicating with clinicians at the Front Window and over the phone.

Essential Functions
-Accurately enters information from requisition (including patient name unit number requesting area time sample drawn physicians name tubes received tests requested general comments) into computer.
-Transfers samples from racks to the centrifuges and to decant station.
-Processes ADDs: locates sample adds tests to original accession completes ADDs form.
-Acts as resource to CLA I and CLA II staff.
-Handles special specimens (e.g. Sendouts).
