Pathology Laboratory Assistant Senior

Job Summary
Summary Performs a variety of clerical and technical duties under general supervision. Reports to a Laboratory Supervisor. Responsibilities include receipt accessioning centrifugation and decanting of patient specimens and communicating with clinicians at the Front Window and over the phone. Does this position require Patient Care No Essential Functions-Accurately enters information from requisition (including patient name unit number requesting area time sample drawn physicians name tubes received tests requested general comments) into computer.
-Transfers samples from racks to the centrifuges and to decant station.
-Processes ADDs: locates sample adds tests to original accession completes ADDs form.
-Acts as resource to CLA I and CLA II staff.
-Handles special specimens (e.g. Sendouts).
